Conti Ball Mills

Continuous refining: one pass in, finished fineness out.

Specifications

Model Capacity Note
ACB-500 400–500 kg/h Powdered sugar-based products
ACB-1000 750–1,000 kg/h Powdered sugar-based products

In a Conti Ball Mill, refining stops being a batch operation and becomes a flow. The mixture is fed by pump into the bottom of the ball-filled vessel, micronised as it rises through the steel ball charge, and discharged into the pre-stock tank at final fineness. One pass. No recirculation. You set the feeding pump speed, and that single adjustment controls your particle size.

For a plant manager, that translates into three things: steady output you can schedule production around, fineness that doesn’t drift between batches, and low energy consumption per kilogram, because the product is handled once instead of circulated for hours.

Alpy Conti Ball Mills refine chocolate, compound, cream, and other fat-based products, in food-grade stainless steel throughout, with minimal maintenance demands.

Conti or Batch? A straight answer

Choose a Conti Ball Mill if you need sustained hourly output and consistent fineness across long runs — it is the refiner for plants that produce every day. If your volumes are smaller, your recipes change often, or you are building your first line, the Batch System Ball Mill does the same job in 500–800 kg cycles at a lower investment, and you can move up to continuous refining later. For a fully integrated continuous solution with mixer and service tank included, see the Continuous System Chocolines.

Integration and support

The ACB-500 and ACB-1000 are the refining stage of Alpy’s Chocoline systems and pair directly with Alpy preparation mixers and tanks, but they integrate just as readily with third-party equipment. Spare parts and after-sales support come from the same Istanbul factory that builds the machines.

Send us your recipe and target fineness, and we will confirm the right model and the real-world capacity you can expect.

Frequently Asked Questions

What hourly output do the Conti models deliver?
The ACB-500 runs 400 to 500 kg/h and the ACB-1000 runs 750 to 1,000 kg/h, with the exact figure varying by recipe and target fineness.
How is particle size set on a continuous mill?
By a single adjustment. You set the feeding pump speed, the mixture is micronised in one pass as it rises through the steel ball charge, and it discharges at final fineness with no recirculation.
Does it only work with Alpy equipment?
No. The ACB-500 and ACB-1000 are the refining stage of Alpy's Chocoline systems and pair directly with Alpy mixers and tanks, but they integrate just as readily with third-party equipment.
