Buying pre-ground powdered sugar means paying someone else’s margin and accepting their particle size. Milling crystal sugar in-house puts both back under your control — provided the mill delivers consistent fineness and doesn’t fill your plant with sugar dust.
The Alpy Sugar Mill is built around a four-row pin configuration running at 5,600 RPM, reducing crystal sugar to powder in a single pass with adjustable fineness from 30 to 100 microns. The system is enclosed, with an integrated air filtration system that captures dust at source — a food-safety point and a housekeeping point, but above all an explosion-risk point that anyone milling sugar takes seriously.
Configurations and output
Single-head Sugar Mill:
| Output | Fineness range |
|---|---|
| 500 kg/h | 30–60 microns |
| 1,000 kg/h | 50–100 microns |
Double-head Sugar Mill: twice the capacity of the single-head model, within the same footprint. The right choice when your refining stage — for example a Chocoline 1000/P — consumes powdered sugar faster than a single head produces it.
In the Alpy line-up
The Sugar Mill typically feeds the Preparation Mixer, where milled sugar joins fats, cocoa liquor, and powders before refining. Specify both together and the capacities arrive matched.
